CO Governor Jared Polis tweets Elon Musk
On twitter yesterday (5-13-2020) Colorado governor Jared Polis tweeted “We want you here “ to engineer, industrial designer and technology entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Elon recently made head lines by defying Alameda Counties strict no reopen policy amidst this “plan-demic covid-19 political stunt” (IMO), and re-opened his Tesla plant operating in Fremont California.
Elon tweeted “Tesla is filing a lawsuit against Alameda County immediately. The unelected & ignorant “Interim Health Officer” of Alameda is acting contrary to the Governor, the President, our Constitutional freedoms & just plain common sense!” on May 9th.
He later tweeted “Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.”
On May 12th Polis tweeted “We want you here @elonmusk in Colorado, we are the best of all worlds. We’re very pro-business, low taxes, also pro-immigration, pro-LGBT, globally-minded. Bright, smart, motivated ppl love to live here. @Tesla HQ, Cybertruck, gigafactory look no further! @kimbal”
Although Polis tweets he is “pro-business” he showed his hypocrisy when Jesse Arellano opened up his C&C Breakfast And Korean Kitchen cafe despite the heavy covid restriction in Castle Rock Colorado, and was attacked heavily on social media by the mob left. Then Polis during a news conference said the cafe “caused an immediate health hazard by doing so”. He went on to say the department is using its authority under the state’s Food Protection Act to shutter the eatery until it is “no longer a threat to public health and hazards are removed”. He then said the restaurant’s license would be suspended “indefinitely” and probably “for 30 days”
So what is it? Either Polis is “pro-business” or he actually hates small business and is “pro big-corp”. His actions are not matching his words.
If Tesla does come to Denver that would be amazing, but Polis shouldn’t be lying to Elon. Polis is already over regulating the industrial industry here in Denver and has obviously used covid as a means to halt the Colorado economy and small business.
